The city of Deruta is situated in the center of Italy, at south of Perugia, on a nice hill which overlooks the valley of the river Tiber.Of the ancient medieval castle, it remains some tracts of the wall, the arches of the three doors and the old streets.Deruta is famous all over the world for the ceramic art, which is proved to date back at least to the Middle Ages and the oldest orders known were of the XIII century. Deruta's ceramics are famous for their decoration of vases, plates and items with the most varied shapes and patterns kept in the world's greatest museums.
